Today, Women Winning is proud to announce two endorsements for Minnesota Constitutional Offices: Lori Swanson for Attorney General and Julie Blaha for State Auditor.
In 2006, Lori Swanson made history when she was elected Minnesota’s first woman Attorney General. After handily winning reelection in 2010 and 2014, this year she is running for a fourth term as Minnesota’s top lawyer. Attorney General Swanson knows how to get results and has worked diligently for the people of Minnesota, fighting for consumer protection, defending access to affordable health care, protecting Minnesotans from predatory lending, and much more. Since 2017, she has also joined attorneys general across the country to challenge President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Julie Blaha, a former middle school math teacher and president of Anoka-Hennepin Education Minnesota, and current secretary-treasurer of the Minnesota AFL-CIO is running for a first term as State Auditor. Julie has worked with cities across the state to improve working conditions, increase the minimum wage, and win earned sick time protections for workers. She is committed to bringing quality, clarity, and focus to the office of the State Auditor.
Lori Swanson and Julie Blaha are the leaders that we need in the important, top offices of Attorney General and State Auditor. As constitutional officers, they will be strong advocates for women’s equality and defend reproductive freedom and access to care. We look forward to supporting their campaigns in the months ahead and electing them on November 6th!
