This June, I visited Minneapolis to speak at the Women Winning Annual Luncheon — what a memorable trip! As Senior Advisor to President Obama, I’ve had the privilege to be part of many inspirational moments. That said, I will never forget the powerful image of the cohort of pro-choice women candidates standing on stage at the luncheon, ready for 2018 and beyond.
Those candidates stepped up to run for all levels of public office – from U.S. Senate to school board – to serve their communities. Now it’s up to us to ensure that next month’s headlines don’t just tell the story of the record number of pro-choice women running for office, but rather of the record number of pro-choice women elected to office.
I am thrilled to partner Women Winning again to kick off a series featuring the pro-choice women who will change the face of power in the crucial 2018 midterms. First up: federal office candidates to represent Minnesotans in Washington D.C.!
Minnesota is the only state with two pro-choice women on the ballot for U.S. Senate this year! All Minnesotans can vote to re-elect powerhouse Sen. Amy Klobuchar and to elect pro-choice champion Sen. Tina Smith in her special election.
Additionally, Minnesota can triple the number women it sends to Congress by electing Angie Craig, State Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Rep. Betty McCollum in Congressional Districts 2, 5, and 4 respectively.
You can meet all 83 of Women Winning’s endorsed candidates by downloading the Women Winning 2018 Midterm Election Voter Guide.
Thank you for your commitment to electing pro-choice women. Make sure you get to the polls to vote for them on November 6th! I look forward to celebrating their victories with you on my next trip to the Twin Cities.

P.S. Women Winning works hard to ensure their candidates have the resources they need to run successful campaigns. Will you chip in today to help pro-choice women win in November?
