Being in an environment fiercely devoted to uplifting and electing pro-choice women allowed me to see that I, myself, could run for office someday.

ABOUT

The Women Winning Political Leaders of Tomorrow (PLOT) Internship Training Program is designed to help you acquire the tools and connections you need to be a future Minnesota political leader. PLOT participants begin with in-depth training from Women Winning staff and experienced campaigners, gain hands-on experience working with a pro-choice woman candidate, and graduate with critical skills and a valuable head start on building a strong network for success.

The PLOT Program is an opportunity for people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds to receive intensive training from Women Winning in campaign communication, fundraising, fieldwork, and strategy. Participants are connected with a pro-choice woman running for office in Minnesota, and the campaign actively helps participants develop their skills 10-12 hours per week. Women Winning also offers valuable volunteer and networking opportunities throughout the summer, in addition to regular check-ins, to make sure participants feel supported. This is the only campaign internship training program in the state that provides free training and mentorship to all participants. Alumni of the program are in high demand — former PLOT participants have gone on to work on presidential campaigns, in congressional offices and the state legislature, and at top lobbying firms.

Application Deadline: May 10, 2019

Why PLOT?

With emboldened threats to choice, women’s access to care, and safe and legal abortion at the state and federal level, it is more important than ever that we have women at the table who are unrelenting in their pro-choice advocacy. PLOT serves as both an empowering resource to help elect pro-choice women and as a catalyst to sustainable political power. PLOT participants graduate with a certificate of completion and an invaluable skill set that they will carry with them as the next generation of advocates, activists, and leaders.

What PLOT Participants are saying

As a person of color and a woman, this organization made me feel valued and that my narrative is valid. We need more organizations like Women Winning where women are being advocated for and their voices are being heard.

2018 PLOT Participant

Women Winning has given me the opportunity to be involved in politics in a way I wouldn’t have had the chance to otherwise. Coming from rural MN, the opportunities are limited, so I was grateful for the chance to expand my knowledge and experience.
