Last week, Women Winning celebrated incredible Election Day victories. We are writing today with more news worth celebrating. After a successful four months as Interim Executive Director, it is our pleasure to announce that Meggie Wittorf will become permanent Executive Director of Women Winning.
Record numbers of pro-choice women ran for office in 2018 and on November 6th, record numbers of pro-choice women WON. Minnesotans were activated by a strong pro-choice, women-led ticket and were ready to change the face of power -- 58 Women Winning endorsed candidates were ELECTED to office, from U.S. Senate to School Board.
This June, I visited Minneapolis to speak at the Women Winning Annual Luncheon -- what a memorable trip! As Senior Advisor to President Obama, I've had the privilege to be part of many inspirational moments. That said, I will never forget the powerful image of the cohort of pro-choice women candidates standing on stage at the luncheon, ready for 2018 and beyond.
