Meet Our Featured Guests
U.S. Representative Katie Porter is currently serving her second term in the United States House of Representatives, representing California’s 45th Congressional District. Once a UC Irvine law professor and nationally-renowned consumer advocate, she held Wall Street banks accountable for ripping off California consumers and homeowners during the financial crisis. Armed with her “Whiteboard of Truth”, in Congress Rep. Porter boldly advocates for workers and families by standing up to powerful special interests and leaders of both parties.

U.S. Representative Lauren Underwood is a registered nurse and health policy expert who served in the Obama Administration as a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). She played a key role in implementing the Affordable Care Act and helped communities across the nation prepare for public health crises. In 2018, she flipped a seat to become the youngest Black woman ever elected to Congress! She is currently serving her second term representing Illinois’ 14th Congressional District.

In 2018, U.S. Representative Angie Craig was elected to Congress in one of The Washington Post’s 10 most competitive races in the nation. She was re-elected in 2020 and is currently serving her second term as the first lesbian mom in Congress.  Rep. Craig has  introduced and co-sponsored hundreds of bills to improve Minnesotans’ lives and address constituent concerns including protecting family farms, supporting our veterans, and getting dark money out of politics.

Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan is the highest-ranking Native American woman in the country and only the second Native American woman elected to statewide office in U.S. history. She served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019, and in 2016 became the first Native American woman to speak from the podium at the Democratic National Convention. Lt. Gov. Flanagan is a champion for children, families, communities of color, and working people, playing a critical role in the state’s response to COVID-19 and addressing systemic inequality and racism.
