Jillia
Pessenda

City Council
Representing
Minneapolis, Ward 1
Next Election in:
2017

Jillia Pessenda is a first-time candidate running to represent Ward 1 on the Minneapolis City Council. Working with city officials on urban agriculture, fighting foreclosures, and advocating for youth and families through her work with Occupy Homes Minnesota and OutFront Minnesota, Jillia has seen firsthand how we can solve problems in our city when elected leaders listen and proactively collaborate with community members to drive policy solutions forward. Jillia hopes to represent the First Ward as a proactive and progressive council member who not only reflects her constituents’ values, but will work with her community to propose creative solutions to improve the quality of life for all Minneapolis residents. If elected, Jillia would be the first woman to serve the residents of the First Ward at City Hall and the first member of the LGBTQ community to represent this area.
