Kirsten is running for Mayor of North Branch. A first generation immigrant from Oslo, Norway, Kirsten has volunteered with many different organizations and projects to become an active member of her community. As an engaged citizen, Kirsten has experience speaking on behalf of her neighbors and fellow citizens. Recently, Kirsten has expressed opposition to the Superior Silica Sands transfer station development. She is unhappy with the way city politics have been run in the past and is ready to make a change. Kirsten believes that city investment is necessary to encourage economic development and pay down debt in North Branch. She is also committed to enacting an ethics policy so that city officials will be held accountable and prevented from voting on issues tied to personal financial interests.
