Kathleen is running for her fourth term on the Dakota County Board, having served since 2003. Before serving on the County Board, Kathleen was mayor of South St Paul. Kathleen is recognized for her expertise in finance, transportation, and tax policy and for her strong advocacy for taxpayers, seniors and families. In 2014 she cut property taxes in the Dakota county such that it now has the lowest county tax rate in the metro. Kathleen also helped create the “Circuit Breaker” income-based property tax relief system. Kathleen is a practicing attorney and a former regional manager of Properties and Facilities for Northwest Airlines. As the chair of the Public Affairs Committee for the Air Transportation Association in Washington, D.C., Kathleen learned to lobby lawmakers for policy that helped the transportation industry.
