Patty
Shafer

City Council
Representing
City of Hibbing
First Elected in:
1994
Next Election in:
2018

Patty is running for reelection to the Hibbing City Council in Ward B. She was first elected in 1994. Patty takes her service seriously and attended city council meetings for a year and a half before vying for a seat two decades ago.  Her long-time priorities include economic development, infrastructure, and housing.  Each of these priorities boil down to one goal:  ensuring that Hibbing remains the hub of the range.  This isn’t just talk where Patty’s concerned--she has the business experience to back it up.  Patty and her sister co-founded The Mulberry Gift Shop, a local small business, in the early 1990s.  Patty wants to fix any and all problems folks may be having in her community.  Patty Shafer has a reputation as a public advocate and feels accomplished when she’s helped even “just one person a day.”
