Erin Murphy

Erin
Murphy

State House
Representing
House District 64A
First Elected in:
2006
Erin was first elected to the Minnesota State House in 2006 and has represented her District 64A in St. Paul ever since. She serves currently as the Majority Leader. Erin’s background is in nursing, and she served as the executive director of the Minnesota Nurses Association. Erin emphasizes leadership and cooperation in her role as Majority Leader. She leads recruitment efforts for the DFL House Caucus to recruit new candidates to run for office. Under Erin’s leadership, all people now have the freedom to marry, the minimum wage was raised for the first time in nearly a decade, and the passage of the Women’s Economic Security Act shows that Minnesota will continue to work towards gender equity. Thanks to Erin, the House balanced the budget for the future without gimmicks, repaid Minnesota schools, and invested in education, jobs, and property tax relief.
