Tracy Fischman joined Prepare + Prosper (formerly AccountAbility Minnesota) as executive director in July 2009. Prepare + Prosper (P+P) is a non-profit organization that facilitates poverty alleviation and financial capability through the provision of free tax assistance, financial services, training/T.A., and advocacy. Prior to working with P+P, Tracy served as a consultant to non-profit, philanthropic, and political organizations, providing strategic campaign, project management, and organizational development services. She has an extensive background in policy and advocacy, as well as organizational planning and development. Tracy has worked for organizations such as Planned Parenthood of Illinois as the vice president for public policy and the Chicago Department of Public Health’s STD/HIV/AIDS Division as the director of policy and legislative affairs. Tracy serves on the boards of womenwinning and the Minnesota Council of Non-profits, and has also served on the boards for organizations such as Girl’s Best Friend Foundation, Citizen Action of Illinois, and Communities Advocating Emergency AIDS Relief. Tracy holds a Bachelor’s degree from Macalester College and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
