Saint Paul, Minn. – Today womenwinning, Minnesota’s largest resource for women in politics, is proud to announce its endorsement of Angie Craig in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Angie Craig is a dynamic leader, running an impressive and strategic grassroots campaign to win in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District,” said Lauren Beecham, Executive Director of womenwinning. “This is one of the most competitive and closely-watched races in the country and we have an opportunity to elect a pro-choice woman.  The womenwinning movement of over 10,000 is excited to stand behind Angie Craig and play a major role in sending her to Congress.”

“As an accomplished executive at St. Jude Medical, Angie created opportunities for the middle class and paved the way for women’s leadership,” Beecham said.  “Her unique abilities and experiences have helped her understand the value of education, fair wages, and supporting working families.  I know she will fight tirelessly to ensure that the issues facing women and our communities are at the forefront of every conversation.”

Angie Craig said, “At every step of my career, I’ve worked to lift up other women and working families.  It is personally very gratifying to earn the support of womenwinning, an organization so devoted to those goals.  I want to go to Congress to build opportunity for all families by fighting for paid-family leave, equal pay, and an increase in the minimum wage.  I know that support from womenwinning will be instrumental in making that happen.”

In a few short months, Angie has secured key political endorsements from elected officials, community leaders, organizations, and individual voters.

“womenwinning is proud to support a candidate who is dedicated to running a comprehensive and aggressive campaign. Angie is successfully building relationships with leaders and activists in every corner of the district and it’s reflected in the outpouring of support she has received,” says Beecham.

womenwinning’s endorsement comes with significant power. womenwinning has supported 249 candidates since 2011 and 170 of them have won their elections from school board to mayor to U.S. Senate. Just this past year, 53 of 72 endorsed candidates won their races.
