Rena MoranRena Moran (DFL-65A)

Ten years ago, Rena moved to the Twin Cities in search of a better life for her kids. Homeless, she and her children stayed in a shelter for several months. In record time she found a job, an apartment and her calling as a community organizer. Rena became a Wellstone Organizing Fellow and was quickly hired on by Urban Embassy, where she would go on to lead the efforts to engage the African-American community during the 2008 election.
